New Tech: Hyperloop transportation, faster than trains and planes?

Elon Musk is not at all a newcomer regarding futuristic ideas. Elon, as a Silicon Valley entrepreneur has achieved many things pushing and reinventing electric cars and spaceflight. But, as we will see, his latest idea for transportation just might be the biggest of all.

Elon's "hyperloop" vision came up during an interview Musk had with PandoDaily. Musk described the possibilities of being able to travel from downtown Los Angeles to San Francisco in under thirty minutes and cheaper flight tickets than an airplane at that. He also explained that California's current train woes have been serving him as inspiration.

"It's something like a Jetsons tunnel, you just get in and it whisks you away?" said Sarah, Lacy who is the current editor of PandoDaily.
"Yes," Musk replied. He also said that the service could be powered around the clock by using solar panels as a source of energy.

However, Musk does seem to have a difficult task ahead of him as California has just finished funding a multi-billion dollar project in establishing a three hour long railway connecting San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Still, the Silicon Valley entrepreneur can collect private funds if he can convince investors of the payback.
